Like most Americans, I have had my fair share of bad eating habits over the years, especially while in college. In an attempt to lose weight, I have tried a couple of diets - mainly Adkins. Today, there are a lot of diets. Seems like everyone knows how to lose weight. It has turned into a multi-billion dollar industry, made worse by Hollywood and the Hollywood image.
My question is: Which fad diet is the best? Is there a true universal "best" diet that always works.
My experience with the Adkins Diet was double-sided. That is, good and bad. I lost the weight - in my case 15 pounds in 2 weeks. However, I did gain it back a few months later when I got off the diet. A few months after that I was diagnosed with Gall Stones. My doctor sent me to a surgeon for his opinion. I GUESS THE SURGEON HAD HIS CAR PAYMENT OVERDUE, SINCE HE SAID "YOU NEED SURGERY" WITHOUT EVEN CHECKING ME FIRST! :)
But I know other people who have struggled to lose weight with the Adkins Diet. Some prefer the South Beach Diet or the Weight Watchers program. In reality, all require a lifestyle change. It is really up to the individual to determine which plan works best for him/her. Comments anyone? please share.
All I know is that I have had a bad liver for years (blog on this to come soon). As soon as I started my latest weight loss program the liver enzymes are back to normal. Find out how I did it, in my "curing fatty liver" blog to come soon. The way I see it, the more food you put into your body and the less you take out, that equals weight gain.
